To be fully honest i thought Tao wuz beast when i started in open beta OO

But yea.. i got like 200- 210% 3 games in a row with Tao all i did wuz keep ur distance and spam the "D" button with some minor switches like if u see 3+ guys u hold it down!! tongue

Bout him being a tank.. Sure why nawt? Tao = AoEs are beast but.. this isnt WoW not like he has threat control right? winkAlso, he has standard HP i always thought Iron Knight best tank... y'know the Defense attibute + chest peice :V

Taos aren't starting to suck. It's just that the actual good players in the game are rising up and now you can easily tell the difference.

They were obv amazin wen they first came out, most ppl didnt defend or use tactics, now we r used to them and taos have a lot of "holes" u can use to escape from their attacks.

But y now r they suddenly so bad? cause we got better? i wouldnt say so, i think the real reason why they r weak is now you only fight 1, when you fought multiple tao (like 3 on a team it was) is was basically non-stop spins and pokes and it would be absurd, multiple tao is still one of the strongest multiple groups, just solo they kinda stink =/

Eh Tao's were always mainly for team support. They are crap in 1v1 or low parties yes but when it comes to larger battles a well played Tao is a rather annoying force.

What are you smoking? Tao is GAWD in 1v1.

As kallas said tao's work best in team's. A well placed Tao can evade many attack just by there ability to attack at a  distance. The charge attack serves very well for crowd control and gives the user easy ring outs.

As for the specials, I personally don't use the swing attack on its own. I only tend to use it right after the AoE for a combo. Landing the first hit on guy in the air is pretty easy, it's the second hit that is a bit more tricky to land.

They poke which is easy to counter since its easy to block, and the swing is easily readable, the push attk takes a while so its easy to dodge, the double swing u can get hit by first and jump the 2nd, the ground slam is pretty nice but even that can be stop'd. They r not GAWD or godly. They have lots of trouble in 1v1 imo.

Tao's have no counter, only a 3 hit combo, have no vertical reach so if someone air attacks them they can't do much. Also their attacks have a good bit of lag, and all their specials can be avoided pretty easily in 1v1.

They are probably the worst melee class in 1v1.

I find that tao 1v1 ability depends on the space availible, in large open areas were they can manuver to keep their distance, they do just fine. In tight spaces with someone up close, they can be hard pressed to not take a beating.

In the end it depends on just how experinced the player is with the class. Some people will womp in 1v1 with a tao, others won't.
